Guided tour of châteaux in Bordeaux:
Saint-Émilion & Médoc
A journey into the vastness of the Bordeaux vineyards
The Bordeaux vineyards are vast. They cover some 112,000 hectares, are home to nearly 6,000 winegrowers and boast 65 appellations. Suffice to say, you’ll have to make some choices… and the right ones! Looking at a map of the vineyards, one thing becomes clear: here, wine is inextricably linked to water. Left Bank, Right Bank, Entre-deux-Mers… so many distinct regions, separated by the Garonne, the Dordogne and the estuary. When planning your itinerary, it is essential to take this geography into account.
Are you curious to discover the clay-limestone landscapes of the Right Bank, dominated by Merlot? Or do you prefer the vast expanses of the Left Bank, opening out towards the ocean, and their powerful, structured Cabernet Sauvignons? Would you like tours focused exclusively on the vineyards and their wines, or would you prefer to combine them with exploring medieval heritage, charming villages… and perhaps a spot of shopping? It’s up to you to tailor your experience.
Places and discoveries
For these vineyard tours – with a few rare exceptions – it is recommended that you travel by motor vehicle (bus, minibus or car) in order to fully appreciate the diversity and vastness of the region. Here is a list of possible destinations:
Saint-Emilion, Pomerol, Fronsac
Médoc
Sauternes
Pessac-Léognan
Blayais, Bourgeais
Entre-deux-Mers
To enhance your experience, we can arrange tastings at the estate, village tours, market visits, or even picnics and activities for children. The key is to find the right places – those that welcome you with genuine warmth.
